Snowflake
Someone was getting rid of this huge teddy bear
so I asked if Padme could have it.
She really loves stuffed animals,
but they don't last very long.
Snowflake was bigger than Padme.
Padme thought it was so cool.
That was one of the reasons
we called the bear, Snowflake.
Of course it was white and that helped too.

Lost and Alone
I saw a little boy in our neighborhood
trying to smash a baby quail with a boot.
I stopped him from killing it.
I searched for the quail's mother,
but she was nowhere to be found.
So I brought him home and fed him.
I took him to a nearby wash and let
him go. I started back home. When I
turned around, he was following me home.
This happened two more times.
Finally my sisters went with me to take
him further out and let him go.
I sure hope he makes it.

Frogs
This past week when it was raining hard I went in search for frogs.
Just look what I found.
I kept them for a few days and then let them
go at the next rain storm.

My First Scout Camp
I just got back from Boy Scout Camp this past week. I had a wonderful time. My cousin and I spent a lot of time together working hard on merit badges. I earned:
- Indian Lore
- Wood Carving
- Leather work
- Rifle Shooting
- Art
- Environmental Science.
I also received partials in:
- Camping
- Personal Management
This is a sign that our troop made for our camp site.
here at the Handicraft area.
Our Scoutmaster was tired of telling everyone
what time it was so he brought up a
clock and hung it on a tree.
Pretty clever!
I found this twisted oak tree.
It had been burned out.
For Environmental Science, I had to do a service
project. I choose to redo this trail.
I really liked these ferns.

Take Off
This afternoon when I went out, I found one of the hummingbirds on the ground. The other one was sitting on a branch. I helped the one on the ground back into the nest only to see him take off in flight. They are no longer just in the nest but hopping on the branches and flying. I do not know if they will stay or leave. I have enjoyed watching nature at it's finest. Here are some pictures I took today.
